New Art For Lost Lore

As more new artwork comes in for the books I'll keep slowly posting it here as well.  Up next is the new piece for Lost Lore:

I'm absolutely thrilled with how this particular piece of work turned out as I find it captures the mood of the moment it depicts perfectly.  There are still more pieces to showcase, but this one actively palsied me when I first saw it because it was like I could hear the music and murmurs filling the background.

I look forward to revealing more.

Doesn't Everyone Enjoy New Artwork?

Today there is another new piece of artwork that is displayed on the website.  The one thing I can say about slowly building up a collection of art pieces for the books is that I feel it allows me the chance to share my vision of the world, and to help set a mood for readers.

With that said, here is the new rendering of Oshevitz:

This captures dour presence of the imposing citadel that shadows so much of the Bad Lands.

As more art is slowly rolled out I cannot wait to share the complete set once it's completed.

Another Quick Update, Plus... Apparel!

Another quick update for the site:  There are now additional pages with more in depth information available on each individual book for the mobile site.  Plus, the tablet version has launched in full, making the sight now fully responsive to your device.

In addition the Ever Store is back up and running!  It's got some new items available in both Men's and Women's apparel, and other knickknacks, so feel free to check it out.

Once again we leave off with some new concept art from The Bad Lands:

Amazon Exclusive and More!

After some hemming and hawing I've decided to make the EPUB version of the book available as an Amazon exclusive.  This means that for the time being the books will only be available on Amazon in electronic format, and that if you have a KDP select membership all five books are available to read for free!

Another update to the site is up, currently for desktop/ tablet users.  This update expands the details available about each individual book.  There's some new concept art up on the individual book pages viewable in the slider at the top of the page.  In the "books" area you'll notice a "learn more" button which will bring you to the expanded content of that book.

More concept art will be getting released over coming weeks along with some other news.  In the mean time, enjoy this piece of concept art from Untold Tales:

Revised Website Enabled

Well, it has been a while.  There were some technical kinks going on in the background, but hopefully those are all sorted.  After a long dormancy the website was updated and revised and is now able to tell the difference between a phone and a desktop.  A responsive website... how novel!  Coming with the new website is a new logo reveal video!

But that won't be the only thing to show off over the coming months.  I should have some more announcements to make along with some new reveals.

Come and visit: HERE

Another Stage Done

When you go through a major restructure, even early in the draft process, it amplifies the time it takes to accomplish what you want to get out of it.  Occasionally people ask me about writing and I tell them it's okay to write sections that aren't in chronological order, and instead to focus on a section they are passionate about and see clearly.  It's a practice that I use in order to help keep myself focused and drag the best work I can out of myself every time I sit down to write.

However, this often leads to what I like to think of as bridging sections.  Gaps you've left yourself in the story that require you to cover the transition from one scene to the next, but to not break continuity.  In fact, you're reinforcing continuity.  In this case I chose to shift an entire chapter back.  I felt like it just came too early in the story and required both the audience to be more familiar with the characters and the characters to be more familiar with one another.  This move left a vacuous hole that became my job to fill.  I've finally done that, completing the draft of an entire bridging chapter last night, but considering it is a restructure the work is not yet done.

Now I need to revisit the chapter that follows, so that it thematically feels more like an extension of the bridging sequence than an unrelated detour.  However, I'm enthused by the progress I've made and I'm hoping that it ultimately means the second half of the book flows more freely (considering I've already drafted swaths of the second half the framing of each chapter hopefully will not need as much of a major overhaul as the first half needed.

As per my custom, as of late, here is a section of unedited work: She was livid with herself because she knew she was powerless.  She knew she could not defend that which was most precious to her.

The Long Silence Part II

Is this really the first post of 2015?  I suppose it is.  Nearly half the year gone, and over 6 months since my last post.  I've been doing some major restructures within the book, shifting sections and massive rewrites to the parts that have already been done.  I'd probably estimate I'm nearly through the thickest part of the briar patch, and I hope to once again see the light within the next few months.  I've been working steadily, both writing and abandoning sequences.  Hopefully all this editing results in something that readers truly enjoy.  Once again, here is a non-edited sequence I worked on recently.

“The sky is full of ghosts,” Aeden said.
Shadow looked confused, “What was that?”
Paedrig let out a sharp, quick laugh, “Mayhap the boy has the right of it.”
“What do you mean?” the girl asked.
Paedrig smiled, beaming down at the boy as if he was some impressive progeny. “How far away are stars that their light can be chased away by the sun? How long does it take their shine to reach us? How many have gone dark, but we just don't know it yet?”

“That may be the most awful thing I've ever heard,” Beodelf said nodding his head.
