Formatting in a Digital Era

It took some time... ok, it took a lot of time, but I have gone through all digital versions of the books and reformatted all of them for all reader types.

My preferred e-reader format is still the Kindle version, simply because I had to compromise in too many areas for the standard epub files and the Kindle version is essentially a straight-up port of the physical copy (though there were some issues converting that version as well).

I have also managed to get all electronic versions of the book to the same price point of $0.99!

I know Amazon takes about a month before they approve updates and make them available to readers (through the Manage My Kindle site) and I'm not sure of the process for other readers so you'll have to check with the site that you get your files from.

Happily, though, the versions should all fit more along the design of the book instead of falling prey to the machinations of a flawed conversion process that seems to care only to throw words on a screen.

The Work Behind The Scenes

As always I'm continuously toiling away on one project or another.  Now I'm happy to announce that the final book in the Weapon Mythos, Tatem's Wake is available on the Kindle!  All three books are digitally available in pretty much whatever format you want.  Next I'm looking to get updates to Bad Lands and Knights of the Realm to correct formatting issues that happened in the transfers to their respective epub types.

Also keep your eye out because the first anthology will be hitting the digital readers soon.  Once that happens I'll be ramping up speed on some other projects that have been on the back burner while I try and tame transferring these books to various digital formats.

And Without Further Ado

I've released the physical copy of Untold Tales:

http://www.lulu.com/shop/dw-hawthorne/echoes-of-the-ever-war-untold-tales/paperback/product-20360015.html

The digital version will be released shortly (in archaeological terms) but the conclusion to the series: Tatem's Wake is a bit closer than that.

In the mean time I've gotten to do an interview about the books with the folks over at Nerd Potion (http://www.nerdpotion.com/2012/08/07/nerd-potion-podcast-d-w-hawthorne/) and they also had me on for a special podcast about Doctor Who (http://www.nerdpotion.com/2012/07/31/nerd-potion-podcast-006-doctor-who-special/) so if you have some time to kill you can check them out.

Back to the bench, as there is always more work to do.

Another BFU (Big Fething Update)

A little bit of big news is here.  I've been working diligently to get the two Anthology books completed and released.  I've gotten one step closer and I'd like to introduce the cover and titles of the two books (the Cover Art was done by Thomas Drew).

First up is the Anthology that is placed chronologically between Bad Lands and Knights of The Realm and it's called Echoes of the Ever War: Untold Tales
While my original intention was to release both anthologies at the same time I'm expecting to instead release them one at a time.  The second will book will be Echoes of the Ever War: Lost Lore
The two covers are designed to be placed side by side as one unified image, but can otherwise simply be considered two separate covers designed under the same aesthetic.
